Road transfers from BZE take about 3.5 hours by shared shuttle or private driver. If you are coming from Belize City, the Hokey Pokey Water Taxi from Independence Village to Placencia saves you the last hour of driving.
Once you arrive, the Placencia peninsula runs on walking, golf carts, and the occasional taxi. The Sidewalk , a 4,071-foot pedestrian path (listed by Guinness as the world’s narrowest main street) , is the village spine and runs right past our door. You can rent a golf cart for the full peninsula or a bike for the village, but most MeMe’s Place guests find they don’t need either.
