MeMe’s Place is an event venue in Placencia village, Belize. Two spaces — a 3,600 sq ft open-air rooftop and a 615 sq ft indoor room with an adjacent pool and prep kitchen — host weddings, milestone parties, corporate retreats, and bachelorette weekends from 20 up to 300 guests.
What we host
Four segments make up most of our calendar. If you don’t see yours, ask anyway — we host the full range, from 20-person elopements up to 300-person cocktail receptions.
Weddings & receptions
Rooftop ceremonies at sunset, reception dinners with dance floor, after-parties that run as late as you want. Rain plan moves everything indoors.
Private parties
Milestone birthdays (30, 40, 50, 60), anniversaries, vow renewals, quinceañeras, bridal and baby showers.
Corporate retreats
Strategy sessions indoors in the morning, networking on the rooftop at night. Multi-day packages available with on-site accommodation.
Bachelorette weekends
Pool at 2 pm, rooftop sunset cocktails, sleep on-site. Walkable to every bar, restaurant, and sidewalk vendor in the village.
Two event spaces, one property
An event venue in Placencia is, by design, a small footprint. Our two spaces stack cleanly for multi-event weekends. Ceremony on the rooftop, reception indoors. Daytime sessions indoors, sunset cocktails up top. Rehearsal dinner in one, main event in the other. You pick the flow.
Rooftop — 3,600 sq ft, open-air
The rooftop is the headline space. Tiled floor, parapet walls, village treeline in every direction, sunset in the right direction. Permanent string-light rig already in place. Flat and open, so you can flip it from ceremony rows to a 20-table dinner with dance floor in 45 minutes.
Conservative capacity: 200–240 ceremony (chairs only); 100–125 seated reception with dance floor; 250–300 cocktail reception; 300–400 festival-style standing for a live band.
Indoor room + kitchen + pool — ground floor
The indoor room is 615 sq ft with a double-height ceiling, a mezzanine-level balcony that overlooks the room, large sliders that open to the pool deck, and AC. It does intimate dinners (20–45), board meetings (14–18), and the rain plan for rooftop weddings up to about 55 seated. The pool deck and the two-tier balcony above it are included with every indoor booking.
The Butler’s Pantry is the catering side: full-size fridge and freezer, gas range, full-size oven, dishwasher, double sink, dish storage, and a door straight onto the reception floor. It’s a staging kitchen, not a commercial brigade — your caterer brings their own warming and holding equipment for larger plated service.
The pool (included with indoor bookings)
The pool deck wraps the indoor space and opens up for cocktail hours, candlelit centerpieces, first-look portraits, and bachelorette pool days. Two tiers of balcony look over the pool from above — which is how the wedding photographer gets the good shots. The pool is part of the indoor booking; it isn’t rented as a standalone.

Launch rates, 2026. All USD. Venue fee only — food, beverage, alcohol, rentals, and staff gratuity are additional and arranged directly with your caterer and vendors. Up to ten event hours per booking day; setup and breakdown time can be added.

Booking terms
- 35% non-refundable deposit holds the date.
- Balance due 30 days before the event.
- Damage deposit: $1,500, refunded within 7 days after the event.
- Outside caterers and bar services: Belize food-service license and COI required.
- Rain plan for rooftop events: automatic flip to indoor at your call, no extra charge, for guest counts up to about 55 seated.
In the heart of the village (no parking lot — and that’s the point)
Straight answer: MeMe’s Place doesn’t have on-site parking. In Placencia village that’s the norm, not a shortcoming. The village runs on golf carts, bikes, and feet. Resort-ballroom weddings in Belize usually mean a shuttle bus, a gravel lot, and a 20-minute drive to dinner. Ours means your guests walk five minutes from their rental, their hotel, or the pier.
- 2–5 minute walk to the Sidewalk, Tutti Frutti, the main pier, and every restaurant and bar on the peninsula.
- Golf-cart rentals deliver to the door. Taxis and boat taxis work the same way.
- Placencia Airport (PLJ) is 6 minutes by taxi; Belize International (BZE) is a 50-minute regional flight or a 3-hour transfer.
- Guests who want to stay the weekend can book one of our on-site rooms and skip transfer logistics entirely.
Catering and bar
We are a venue, not a restaurant. We do not sell alcohol. That’s worded plainly because it matters for your planning:
- Bring your own (BYO). Simplest path for private parties, showers, and smaller events. You stock the bar; your caterer or bartender serves.
- Licensed caterer or mobile bar vendor. For weddings and larger functions, hire a Belize-licensed caterer or mobile-bar service — they bring the license with the service. We keep a shortlist of vendors who know the property; ask us when you inquire.
- Butler’s Pantry access. Staging kitchen with a fridge, freezer, gas range, oven, dishwasher, and dish storage. It’s a finishing and serving space, not a commercial brigade — caterers doing plated service for 40+ should bring their own warming and holding gear.

Frequently asked questions
Is there parking on site?
No. Placencia village is walkable and cart-friendly; most guests arrive on foot, by golf cart, or by taxi. Rentals and taxis drop off at the door. If you are using shuttle transport for a larger group, let us know and we’ll coordinate a staging point on the main road.
What is the maximum capacity?
The rooftop fits up to about 300 for cocktail receptions and 100–125 for seated dinners with a dance floor. The indoor room seats 25–45 for plated dinners and up to 55 for cocktail-style receptions. For weddings we recommend designing around 120 seated as a sweet spot; larger cocktail formats can go to 300.
Do you handle catering?
No in-house kitchen brigade. You either hire a Belize-licensed caterer (we keep a shortlist; ask when you inquire) or bring your own if the format is casual. The Butler’s Pantry is a staging kitchen that your caterer will use for final prep, plating, and service.
What about alcohol?
We don’t hold a liquor license. Two paths: BYO for smaller private events (you provision the bar, your caterer or bartender serves), or a licensed mobile-bar vendor for weddings and large functions (they bring the license with the service).
What time do events have to end?
No curfew. You book the space for the day, you use it for the day. Placencia’s village core isn’t residential-zoning sensitive about late music the way a resort zone might be; we ask that amplified music is respectful of neighbouring businesses after midnight.
Can guests stay on site?
Yes. The property includes on-site rooms; see the rooms page. Full-venue buyouts commonly bundle a multi-night stay for the wedding party or the retreat team, which skips transfer logistics and means the after-party is upstairs.
The space
A mix of real event photography and preview renders (labelled as such). Real shots are marked plainly; the renders are layout previews until we can swap in photos of the first weddings and retreats of 2026.
